Welcome to Kotkan Meripäivät

Meripäivät is a legendary summer festival held in Kotka, a beautiful seaside town in Southeastern Finland.  The festival was founded in 1962 and since then, Meripäivät has become one of the biggest festivals in Finland attracting around 200,000 visitors every year.  Meripäivät offers a wide variety of events for all ages, most of it for free.  The diverse festival programme is a delightful mix of music, sports and family events.  In addition, the Kotka International Wooden Boat Fair ads a little extra to this year’s Meripäivät celebrations. The festival events are organized not just in the main festival site in Kantasatama but all around Kotka.  During the four festival days the whole town gets together to celebrate and to – most importantly – enjoy the unique atmosphere Meripäivät is famous for.
